The cutest snail plush!

I found the Shelby plush at the Alphabet Soup store in Ithaca, NY where I heard it’s one of the most popular plushies! I got one for myself and one for a friend I went snail-watching with, who has a select few favorite plushies – and Shelby is now one of them! Plush “bugs” often look a little off to me because they’ve been anthropomorphized a bit too much, but I think Shelby’s design is a perfect balance of stylized and realistic. The earth tones, pudgy body, light colored underbelly and “foot” extending from the shell, and little mouth (stylized as a tiny smile!) remind me of what I find charming about real snails. The stylized details, like the lilac antennae, fuzzy texture and the aforementioned smile, contribute to the cuteness as well! This is a plush that looks way better in person than in the picture (and the fabric is so wonderfully soft!) Shelby is THE cutest snail plush I’ve ever seen, and makes a wonderful companion for people who appreciate snails and other little creatures!
