65th Anniversary Year Giving
65th Anniversary Year Donations
Working in the challenging business climate of 2021, our goal was to make an impact on child hunger within our community.
Through local outreach, we found two organizations, FEEDING TINY TUMMIES, and M.U.C.H. (Monadnock Understands Child Hunger), who deliver food to families on nights and weekends, when children often need assistance most. We were able to make cash donations to both which were generously matched by our wonderful Board of Directors.
Part of this donation was made possible by our participation with The Savings Bank of Walpole and the WKNE Monadnock Broadcasting Group in their “Good Friends Campaign”. At no cost, DOUGLAS donated over $14,000.00 worth of stuffed animals, which were purchased by customers of Savings Bank of Walpole and residents of our community!
The purchase of these plush toys by our generous community, raised $29,500 to directly support M.U.C.H. (Monadnock Understands Childhood Hunger), “A coalition of members who share the vision of access to abundant, healthy food for all of the children of our region” – muchcoalition.org
In Total for the year 2021, DOUGLAS was able to donate over $94,000.00 to help eliminate childhood hunger within the community we live and love. In the big scheme of things, this is not a substantial amount. But it does show that small businesses can make a difference locally. Your support of DOUGLAS helps us share what we earn with our employees and our community. Together we can help others, one Stuffed Animal at a time.
